Friday..setting up exhibition so missed lovely colourful day.

Spring on Skye

ironically just back from walk in lovely sunny woods, but its these patterns in a smashed up building that caught my eye.

Shinty Match

Went to Lochcarron Shinty Pitch to photograph the match in the cold rain.
Now I'm not much of a sporty person, a bullying PE teacher at school, being a geek, being a girl, and being scared by all the macho shouting at Rugby touch line as a tiny tot all contribute to this, plus I can't stand macho drinking lad culture.  However it was impossible not to get sucked in watching this game. What I loved was the emotion and focus on these guys faces, the supportive team spirit, that young teens are playing alongside blokes not far off 50. It was a tough gig to photograph, times they got real near I had to shift quick it to stay out of the way. Love the mad shapes that their bodies throw in action, also you can see how fast it all moves by in some pictures they're all looking opposite directions, 'spot the ball' ? no chance.
So young men- channeling energy into fast and tough team sports supported by the older generation ? all good.

blossom & bog

Blackthorn blossom & rusty bike remains in a bog- the oil is natural. Volcanic cloud not pictured, as it looks like like a duller blue sky than usual in the photos.

over the ( Smokey ) sea to skye

Monday until Midnight. Miles into the mountains with a beater & bottle of tepid water fighting miles of this. Photo above, see the thick patch of smoke & flames? I was there seconds previously!  Boy that stuff can move when the wind catches it.

who needs dinner when theres a few miles to trudge into the mountains, to run out of daylight long before reaching the fire.Lets hope its damp tonight & we're not up there again tomorrow morning.

'Yesterdays, how quick they change'

Killing time Sunday morning in town prior to a meeting, Hoodie crow hung out too.

Fuar Tholl warmed by spring sunshine on journey back from taking Daughter to bus station to airport to fly the nest. No more kids at home- feels like vertigo.

Call out to a wild fire.

Variety is the ..thing of life, and it certainly is. Sunday morning bootsale in town, so many people so much junk, so many stories.

Easter Snow/Sunday

Easter Sunday. Had to do a taxi run over to Applecross, warm spring sunshine up into still thick snow. rolled our eggs off the top.

Easter Primroses

apparently if you put the right magical number of Primroses, on the right fairy rock, you can open a doorway to the fairy realm. I never did find it, but it always feels a wee bit closer around Easter when the plants start waking up. When I was 12, I had a nature diary for a school project, it started late February & went through into April, its funny how much its stuck, when to expect the celandine, the tadpoles, the snowdrops, the lambs, the dry spell, the snowy spells.

Hi-Ex-set up

And this is why there has been no posts in ages, Its called Hi-Ex, its a comic convention that myself and Rich run at Eden Court in Inverness. This is the One touch theatre turned into the main room for dealers & artists, set up & beautifully lit by the Eden Court Tech team, before the maddness hit.
