Monday 28th Journey home

a long drive home from NI, snowy iced roads were one thing but a 2 hour delay south of Perth, due to an accident, left us driving well into the freezing moonlit night. We have no car thermometer, the radio said -12C, the inside of the car windows were frozen with the heaters on, ice crystals shimmered in the headlights - spectacular.

Sunday 27th Belfast museum

Boxing day drive up antrim coast

A graveyard called Ardclinis, where a crozier lay on the ruined church windowsill until mid 1700's.

A Hawthorn, 'fairy' tree was decorated with rags & white stones, there are a few of these around. The freezing cold wind made it impossible to explore further up into the limestone crags surrounding.

Winter White

Drive through to Inverness stunning but the roads were treacherous. No where safe to stop for good photos of lovely sunrise over the mountains on way out & a couple of hours later sunset on way back. I stopped at one point to take the first photo, left the van & sank into snow above my knees so beat a hasty retreat.  There were plenty of deer around digging into the snow to get something to eat.
