Its not a hurricane yet, but scots on twitter have affectionately named this storm... which i won't repeat here. I think we are moreorless in the eye of it so it's worse elsewhere. The road along the bottom of the Hill in the photo is closed due to landslip risk, the railway line is shut. some power is off, the schools are closed.

heading home from Broch Conference, Applecross. Saturday 2nd Oct. Stags roaring & rutting in the hills, saw one close to the road black from rolling in the peat with mud & grass in his antlers ( by the time I stopped van, got camera etc, he was blurry in the gloom ). The Bealach hill pass is due to close for major repairs this week- its about to collapse, so who knows when I'll photograph that route again!
